A Grande Dame of a Movie

“I studied at the Budapest Academy of Theatrical Arts for four years and emerged with a degree.”
—Bela Lugosi (1882-1956)

The Grand Budapest Hotel” opens its doors for business today. Please step inside this “hotel;” it is filled with wit, charm, and stunning visuals.
It is this third part, the visuals, that caught my attention from the start of the movie. Come Oscar nominating and winning time next year, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” deserves to be at the top of the list for it set decoration, costumes, cinematography.
The all-star cast is perfectly suited to their roles. Even the pink boxes of Mendl’s delicious macorons are well placed for maximum effect! I could see Bela Lugosi cast in one of the quirky roles in this delightful movie.
Do spend some time, 90 minutes, at “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” It is a visit you will long remember.
